You are able to inspect the information your rates are based on and the state of your rates account at Council's offices. You have the right to object to any information in these records.
The Local Government Rating Act (2002) limits public access to name and postal address information that we hold for rating purposes.
The legislation requires that name and postal address details are made accessible to the public unless the property owner advises Council in writing that they want the information withheld. Financial transactions cannot be viewed by the public.
If you are happy for your details to appear in the rating information database no action is required on your part.
Ratepayers wishing to withhold their names and/or postal address information must notify us.
