Under Section 74 of the Reserves Act, Council intends to lease the ‘Peria Paddocks’ located between the Waioeka stopbanks and Chatfield Place, Richard Street and Union Street for some form of pastoral use. This may include but is not limited to grazing or cropping.
Council's preferred option is to issue one licence for the 5 separate paddocks totalling approximately 4.57 ha (11.3 acres).
