Anzac Services in Ōpōtiki district

Each year on 25 April, we mark the date of the Gallipoli landings by soldiers in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps – the original Anzacs. For more than one hundred years, we have acknowledged those lost and those who have experienced war and conflict - veterans, present armed services personnel and their whānau, and those displaced by war finding a new home here in New Zealand.

Note – while the services are marked on 25 April, the public holiday will be mondayised and may impact council services on that public holiday. Please check council’s website, Facebook and Antenno for details.

Civil Ceremony

For the parade, please meet at 10:20am outside the Ōpōtiki Returned Services Association Memorial Club, St John Street for 10:40am march off. Civil Service at 11am at the Cenotaph.

Dawn Services

Ōmarumutu Marae - assemble at Ōpōtiki RSA at 5:40am for transportation. Service starts at 6:30am

Te Kaha Marae – 6am for service followed by breakfast and refreshments (more details on the Te Whānau a Apanui RSA Facebook page).
