Grab a bargain at the Ōpōtiki library book sale
Ōpōtiki library is getting ready to move from their temporary premises in the old ANZ building to the brand new, beautiful Te Tāhuhu o Te Rangi in the next couple of weeks.
As part of this move, the library is clearing out many of the old books that have been stored in the customised shipping containers in the car park. These books are making way for new titles to grace the shelves in Te Tāhuhu.
Ōpōtiki library manager, Jo Hunt, said that it was a first for the library.
“It is a great opportunity for people to come along and grab a bargain. There are literally hundreds of titles across almost every genre so there is sure to be something for everyone and they really are priced to go as fast as possible. We’ll use the proceeds to extend our large-print collection in the new premises.
“This is the first time we have run a book sale because we generally save up our retired books and pass them on to Quota for their famous annual second hand book sale which we love to support. But in this case, we have such a lot to get out the door and we don’t want to move them to our new premises, so we’d love people to come along and buy them over the next few days.
“There is a wide range of titles including some duplicates of popular reads or older non-fiction books where we may have an updated version. It is great to make room for new and exciting material for our lending collections!” Ms Hunt said.
The book sale is on Thursday to Saturday 4-6 November 10am-4pm in the carpark behind the library.
