Ōpōtiki Community Services
Below is a list of community service groups and the services they provide:
Whakatohea Māori Trustboard - Te Pou Oranga o Te Whakatōhea
- Kaumatua support - access to essential services for kaumatua and the elderly
- Mental health and addictions - tailored to a person's needs
- Social services - video call and phone counselling

- Support with domestic violence/whanau crisis
- Rangatahi - Youth support via online and/or Facebook
- Emergency housing support

Te Ao Hou Trust

- Coordination with other essential services
- Whānau Direct funding to support whānau in crisis

Financial hardship and assistance
If you've been affected by COVID-19, Work and Income may be able to help, even if you're not on a benefit. There are various ways you can get assistance, whether you're an individual or an employer. For further information visit www.workandincome.govt.nz and click on the COVID-19 tab at the top of the page.

After hours: after 5pm medical hub is only open until 10pm for acute illnesses only and is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 10pm including public holidays.

Whakatohea also offer mental health service and can be contacted by calling 07 3156042 or 027 443 939. Whakaatu Whanaunga Trust also offer support for rangatahi or whānau experiencing domestic violence and can be contacted on 07 3155174.
If you are unable to make contact with the above services you can freecall or text 1737, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for support from trained counsellors. For general questions relating to health call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for advice and support.
