Draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2018

Ōpōtiki district, like the rest of New Zealand, needs to reduce waste going to landfill and increase recycling. The goal is clear and Council's Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) outlines suggested pathways for getting there.

Council is legally required to have a WMMP and it must be reviewed and updated every three years.

Consultation has now closed on our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2018. Hearings will be held On Tuesday 12 June if required.

The mayor and councillors will consider all the submissions, before making final decisions on what to include or exclude from the plan. A final version of the plan will be adopted on 29 June.
