  CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

An opportunity to lead a small and strong team forward to capitalise on strategic opportunities has arisen in the beautiful Eastern Bay of Plenty.  The position of Chief Executive Officer with Opotiki District Council has become available and elected members and staff, are looking for someone who has an advanced knowledge of current local government, sound commercial and political acumen, demonstrated abilities to lead and extract potential from staff and to forge vital and purposeful relationships with stakeholders.

Within this role is the chance to really make a difference as Opotiki is well positioned to take advantage of coastal development and aquaculture opportunities.  As Chief Executive Officer you will be in a position to ensure that advancements within the district are well led, coordinated and reflect the diverse needs of a bi-cultural community.

Key responsibilities are those expected of any Chief Executive Officer role but operations are on a scale where a supportive and competent team environment allows creativity and innovation which will lead to your own professional development and achievement.

Opotiki District extends along a stunningly beautiful east coast of the Bay of Plenty, from Ohiwa Harbour to Cape Runaway.  The district has an abundance of unspoilt natural features, landscapes and areas of native growth.  There are excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation and leisure activities.
